Hi there,

Does anyone know how to unstick the button? It got sand in it at the beach and now it won't move. Its stuck in the depressed position.

Thanks,

Lol, I have the same issue. Even though the button no longer raises fully pushing on it still toggles between on & off.

Looking around the Internet, apparently you're not alone as it seems to be a common issue with all KK's.

Some have suggested that the best solution is to disassemble the trim, remove the button and lightly sand the sides of the button. Then reassemble with a small amount of grease.

You might also get away with applying a small amount of silicone spray around the button, then hopefully with a bit of persuasion the button will loosen. Alternatively using a thin blade, try and pry the switch up.

Without strip it all, which u may well have to do..

Spray with some contact cleaner, or silicone spray (not brake clean as its too aggressive) put a rag round the area you are spraying so you dont get liquid running everywhere.

Regards
Daz

Thanks all,
Sprayed with contact cleaner and pried the button up with a thin blade. All good now!

Happens now and again to me, it's a really easy thing to fix.

The trim that surrounds the button and shifter area comes off very easily. Just grab it from the left and right sides and pull it straight up and that rectangle section will pop out. Then you can just pop the button out from the back and give it a clean.

As a tip, I cover mine with a little bit of duct tape when I'm not using it to stop crap working it's way in there.
