I just did a 615km round trip from Noosa to Byron bay and back in a brand new 3.2L (with only 1200km on it at the start of the trip). Got home in the same tank with iver 100km stated as remaining!

Manged to get 7.8L per 100. Was absolutely stunned to be honest, especially since the advertising guff quotes 7.9 highway for the TH!

I have not towed with mine yet but will be towing a 1 tonne Jayco Dove wind up. Have read in here someone towing their TJ to Coffs and getting around 13 L per 100 so pretty good still even with a fair load behind.

Mine now has only 2300km and have very much enjoyed every km of it.

thanks yeah i read the post about the tj towing but wanted to find out a little more my van is an old 75 franklin weights 990 but fully loaded its around the 1450 range . those figures you stated are about the same as my tdi 4motion tiguan so with better off road handling it could be a winner for us to go to a trailhawk

Tam gets between 13.5 and 16 l/100km towing the Teej on the trailer. Thats around 2100kg loaded trailer weight.

We are at 25 odd thousand ks on the clock.
