Default Colours rear light cable

SInce there is no power running on my original license plate lights (has been tempered with and I'm too lazy to sort it out I wanted to hook the license plate light to the rear light. Now, there are two wires running to the light (rear light and break light) One is white with yello stripe, the other white with purple stripe. Anyone know which one is for the rear light - would be weird when the license plate only gets light when I break...
(I do not have a test light - but if nobody knows I might hve to get one)

I know US-JKs typically have only one wire (no amber turn signals), so I can't get help there. And here in Europe nobody seems to know...

Thanks in advance
Sven

It may depend on what year build yours is, however mines a 2012 model and its white with purple stripe. Hope that helps. White with yellow stripe should be brake.
