Default Battery replacement for WH

I'm in urgent need of a new battery, is there a particular one that suits the WH, without going to the dealer?

Regards,

Robert

I'm a fan of the Optima D34 yellow or blue tops, they fit fine in the WH cradle; clamp can secure it, etc. More than enough CCA, and a bit smaller than stock.

The slightly higher resting voltage and ability to deep cycle makes them a good match for the WH (seems to suck a heap of power, and inevitably end-up draining the battery a few times over it's life if not a daily driver.).

Spiral cells are more durable than plates (regardless of AGM or gel), so they can handle vibration, heat and deep discharge better.

PS; No association with Optima, just been using them for a long time in cars and industrial robotics with good results. I believe Exide have a spiral cell battery too, and probably a few others.

I just fitted an Optima D27F. Perfect fit, factory terminals fit.

Minimum 800cca for the Diesel from memory

Optima 27F
Cold Cranking Amps: 830
Capacity: 66 Ah (C/20)

Had originally fitted a Braille 75ah but after 3 years it appears to have dropped a cell, still under warranty (pro rata) but not worth claiming as I would pay more then I paid for the Optima.

I've always ran caterpillar batteries and will be looking to replace my factory battery soon with one. They come with a 5 year pro-rata warranty. Left my old ZG grand for 5-6 weeks at a time and it would still start first time. Lots of CCA for the money and the one time I needed to use the warranty I had no issues and was looked after on price.

I replaced the original, when it died, with a Bosch 58515.
