what do you mean it doesnt work?
does the odometer still show the original mileage? it has a flash memory and retains the reading regardless if the power supply has been disrupted as in a dead battery, so there is nothing to reset
if the needle isn't working a common problem seems to be a bad connection where the loom connects and plugs into the speedo
that involves removing the speedo assy and unplugging, cleaning the socket pins and reconnecting
there have been a few write ups on that
