Default Fuel filler woes

Did a search and it seems every Jeep model has problems filling with fuel, including my '04 KJ petrol. I jumped underneath and spied a ridiculously small filler tube going into the fuel tank, or is it that the air can't get out? Are there any mods that people have done to make the fuel flow better?
I tried using a sloping driveway and that was marginally better. The latest trick is to pull the trigger on flat out so I can get about 5 - 8 L in one go, much better time-wise than letting it trickle in.

It must be a petrol only thing as I've never had any problems filling our Deso KJ.
there was a recall or tech bulletin about slow filling or something like that. I've seen it psoted around the traps somewhere but I've never read it TBH as I've never had any troubles. Might be worth a read to see if it gives any insights to the problem and the fix if there is one

What brand fuel do you use? When i first got my V6 JK, i used to use Shell and always had slow-fill issues, like 20 min. to fill it! I then changed to Caltex and never had a problem since. I think someone else on here made a comment once that different servos (like Caltex) have their pump nozzle cutoff set to be not as sensitive as others. Don't quote on that but it makes sense. As dhula mentioned, i think that there was some kind of mod. you can do.

I use all sorts of fuel, whatever is the cheapest, straight unleaded of course. When its on trickle you can hear the fuel rising up the filler tube moments before it shuts off, so I don't think its a fault of the pump.

It's a common problem mine also does it I believe it's in the breather not allowing the air to escape as it fills. I haven't gotten around to dropping the tank when it's not full to check it out.

I find if I jam the nozzle all the way in until it hits something and pull the handle then it will click off repeatedly. So I put it in all the way and then back it out a little and have never had a problem filling like that.
