Default 97 XJ Shutting Down

This has probably been asked before, but I can't find a solution using the search function. I've got a 10/1997 XJ Sport that I've owned for the last 5 years. It's had an intermittent fault where it would start then shut down the same as if the Security light is on. In the past if you locked then unlocked via the key fob it would run, the battery has been replaced a few months ago in the fob.

So the fuel pump is ok, 52psi & 250ml in 7 sec, as per the XJ manual. Crank cam sensors appear ok, the engine is starting, just shuts down within seconds.
Tested the loom for loose/broken wires, nothing shows up.

I probed the injector wires & when it stops the injectors are turning it off, the ignition is still firing. No codes are showing up with the elcheapo scanner. The ASD relay is still alive after the engine stops, so it isn't stopping the engine.

My thoughts are the PCM or the Security system. How can I bypass the Security system to eliminate it? I don't have another PCM to swap over & the nearest Jeep dealer is 120kms away.

Any other thoughts would be much appreciated.

What town are you in?
Pam's part number?
Have you tried the ignition display, for pulling codes out yet.
I would double check cam and crank sensors.
Will it run longer starting at half throttle and holding it there?

don't worry about a jeep dealer if it is the PCM you will have to get one second hand PCM I recently had to replace it in my 96 I don't know about later models but try and get a matching numbers PCM I know nothing about the security system as the 96 and 99 don't have them
one thing though years ago I got some keys cut for my 2001 PT Cruiser ... before programing the keys they would start the car then it would stop after 5 secs or so maybe your ignition is not recognizing your key?
(try hot wiring it and see what happens)

My 97 has the button fob style on the key for the security.
I do have a couple of spare Pam's. But only one is compatible. Kind of....
It will start and run ok, but I get no instrument display.
Unsure if it is damaged or not matching correctly.
But it will get me by interim.
I did get stuck out in the bush with a flat battery in the remote once. Gave the remote battery a quick hit with a lighter, stuck it back in real quick and Got it started. Always carry spares!!!!!

Are you in Mudgee?
Gulgong.
Pam's? Do you mean PCM?
How do you read codes from the Ignition display?
I did get it to run with some throttle, but wouldn't idle below 1000/1100 revs, so I've fitted another TPS which it started & idled, so currently checking the wiring to the TPS, as it stopped again after playing with the loom.
I have black keys, with a separate fob with the unlock/lock buttons.
Also a pic of the PCM.

A bit of an update.
Tested the TPS, installed another, wired in a good Toyota TPS, still starts then shuts down using 0 throttle or 1/2.
I found how to bring the DTC codes up, 12-45-42-55. 42 gives me something to start investigating.
Do these codes clear once the system is good or can I clear them?
