Default 2.7 CRD Bleed Valve

I recently had a scatter brained moment and put petrol in my WG. No big deal though, pumped the petrol out of the tank. Got a bit of air in the high pressure pump but was able to bleed the engine using the factory valve.

However now it seems my bleed valve is sucking air sometimes giving me a bit of a rough/surgy idle. I'd like to replace the bleed valve (cheapest replacement I can find is: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Original...frcectupt=true) but the OEM part seems a bit poxy, they seem to break in some way on most of these cars. Can anyone recommend a better alternative?

Any recommendations greatly appreciated

Edit:
I'm looking and making a bleed valve from hydraulic parts

Before you replace it, try clamping the hose between it and the tee with a brake hose clamp. This will confirm that the valve is the issue.

Second thing is to confirm all the o-rings are intact on the plug.

BTW, it should not suck air. It's on the low pressure side of the LP pump. It's under positive pressure. Sucking air is only possible if the LP pump is stuffed.

I've already confirmed the valve is leaking

It's only sucking air when the engine is off. This happens as the pumps are placed so high on the engine that they naturally drain if air is able to get in.

If it's leaking air it's faulty.

There's no reason in my opinion why you couldn't use a ball valve which will seal the system yet still allow you to prime the lift pump.

Yea thinking the same, might still throw in the check valve if it's not massive. Gonna grab some parts later this week
