I like how people throw the work hacker around like its what this is. This is nothing more than spam posts, and if you see its spam (and its 200% obvious it is), and click on the link, well I can't help that.

Forums, FB groups, Instagram, they all get this crap, its simple, ignore it, don't click the damn links, then you have zero issues with your own security.

Come on guys.

Yeah but... that might be so. I think it is something more than spamming. Anyway, a public forum site like this is should have filters etc in place to stop such access. Surely. And at what point does one of these "spams" take over a member's computer with malware etc. The site owners etc do have a legal responsibility to do all that is possible to make sure that this does not happen. And there is also a legal liability that arises...

Just saying.

So if someone "hacks" you on Facebook, Zuckerberg is responsible?

If someone emails you a spam email with a dodgy link to your Google Gmail account then Google is responsible?

I read some many things in the news daily about people falling for online scams etc, and at some point people need to take responsibility and protect themselves.

We cannot simply sit here and monitor every single post, weigh up its merits and delete or save.

If you click a link and end up with spyware or malware on your computer, who clicked the link? Does it matter where the link is? Its in your email, on this forum, on Facebook or Instagram. The spyware or malware was not distributed by Ausjeep, was never on our server, it was a link, that you clicked.

I have been scammed many years ago through keylogging to the tune of $10'000 which I managed to get back from my bank, so don't think I am not being empathetic, I am just saying, its a free forum, with little to no moderation any longer due to lack of memberships so show some common sense and don't click links that are in Vietnamese showing things that are clearly not Jeep related.

If I get a spam call now I just abuse the hell out of them until they hang up. I probably get 50 spam emails a day. Most get rejected by the email server & go straight to the spam folder. Any that get through, I mark as spam without opening. I used to collect spam email details and place them on spam mailing lists. Now most spam comes from no reply email. Its just a part of life. Move on. Its not going to kill you!
