Default So for something different

Some of you might know, I have been living in Thailand for the last 2 years, riding around most of Asia and India on a motorcycle.

My latest plan has seen me opening a pizza shop in the province of Ratchaburi west of Bangkok on the way to Kanchanaburi.

I gotta say, the only upside has been that the investment vs return is good compared wit opening a business in Australia, past that what a massive headache.

Gone from everything from branding, menu's, building a woodfire oven, shop fitout etc as all been done over the last few weeks. We are now less than 2 weeks off launch date, and starting to share our creations locally with friends for their quality opinion.

I'd like to hear about your experience re: work visas etc one day, there is a lot of negative commentary about the issue on thaivisa, but I thought a lot of that might be just whinging ex-pats making things sound worse than they really are.

At this stage I am still a tourist, I am structuring it with employee's for now. The ability to get a work permit for your own company needs the showing of 2 million THB capital which for the size of my shop is ridiculous. If it happens to turn a decent profit maybe in the future.

For now it doesn't need to make much money, just enough to cover it's costs and give me some walking around money, I'm not greedy
