Default car alarm for soft top

not sure what to go for, different people recommend different things of course! argh. all around the same price... ($500 or so)

i vote for none of the above.

Microwave snesors are a waste of time and you will find it will be forever going off. I have one and have not used it for the last 5 years.

Do yourself a favor and buy a hard top if you want security, if not, dont keep any valuables in the car.

am careful not to leave valuables in the car but figured for added security. i do worry about it going off a lot for no reason... so just an immobiliser then?

I've got one from the top of the list but had the micro tuned down...

The wind on the soft top kept setting it off...

Otherwise all is good...

Still won’t stop em from knifing the window trying to get in... Stupid bastards...

where ever poss leave nothin in the jeep and no roof LOL.

The problem is ultrasonics are only good in a sealed box no air leaks or panels flapping

Microwave is better but most of the car alarm sensors are on 2.4ghz
really bad band to be on -cordless fones, WIFI, bluetooth all cause it grief.

The better microwave gear is on 10Ghz /24ghz

And joe Alarm installer needs to know HOW to install it and where.

Ultrasonics won't work with soft top. Even open air vents in a standard car can set off ultrasonics.

I have a dual zone microwave sensor mounted inside the center compartment lid. The alarm sounds a warning chirp if the outer radar bubble is disturbed, and full alarm if the inner bubble is disturbed. No false alarms from it at all once the bubble sizes were adjusted.
