2020 WK2 issues
G’day all,
So bought a 2020 Overland about 2 months ago. It’s a dealer principal vehicle with 14k on the clock. Well we’ve just had it towed now for the 2nd time. First time was due to a leak on the transmission line back to the transmission. Now it’s gone into limp mode with a throttle control service warning.
I had a 2015 limited prior to this one and never had an issue. I’m a bit concerned I’ve got a dud. Has anyone else experienced these sort of issues with their circa 2020 Grands?

i won't lie i've had more issue with my 2018 TH than i did with my 2014 limited. I drove the limited a lot harder and abused it offroad and it never missed a beat .
I've had glow plugs replaced, brand new uconnect, boot ram has failed, drivers door not sealing properly. And ontop of that waiting 6 months for parts to come in has made this experience tedious

Get the dealer to check the MAP Sensor.
I had this fault come up on my 2014 at about 80k. Tried cleaning the sensor but ended up getting a S/H unit and fitting. It's been ok since then

Bugga Tim, thats not good. I was wondering whether to replace my 2014 with something a bit newer though decided to keep it for another few years as just clocked over 155K, so hopefully sees me good for another 100K.

It's one reason I stick with my 2013 and maintain it (some say to excess). Engineering hasn't necessarily improved over the years, yet for a model that's been around for 10yrs the WK2 should be damn near perfect by now. Many issues I read about relate to later models or at least include later models. Sometimes I think the earlier examples were actually better screwed together, albeit with the humble 5sp box in ones like mine.
Too much focus on adding increasingly more whiz bang glittery stuff and less attention to evolving a 'better' car each year, methinks.

Well all,
Turned out my latest issue was apparently due to the folks at Jeep not resetting the oil service counter/timer after they last changed the oil not a real issue with the vehicle. Apparently, if this goes into the red (oil change required) for a period of time the vehicle goes into limp mode. Who knew.

My 2015 owners manual mentions this happening on page 171 & reads as follows:
"NOTE: Failing to follow the oil change indicator, changing your oil and resetting the oil life indicator by 0 miles remaining will prevent the diesel exhaust filter from performing it's cleaning routine. This will shortly result in a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) and reduced engine power. Only an authorized dealer will be able to correct this condition"
Looks like not all service departments pay attention to the info supplied by the manufacturer
Cheers
