Default Quadra-Trac part time conversion

Guys, would I be correct in saying that a QT front drive shaft won't spin freely ever unless it had a 2wd conversion? Just tested mine on the CJ7 when it was parked in gear. I suspect it had the conversion as it also has free wheeling hubs..
a little confused...

From the exploded diags Ive seen QT uses centre diff which means no it wont spin free unless trans is in nuetral , Id say free wheelin hubs are the give-away.

Does it have a lever coming through the floor on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel, just in front of the front passenger seat?

I hope so turbomart..

Yes, it does fil. Can only get it in and out of low range with some grinding though.. Reason for asking about the conversion now is so I can order the QT oil, which I wont need if it's been done...

Interesting........
I have a '83 sportsman for a donor for the FC project, it has free wheeling hubs and with the hubs in free and the transmission in park the front shaft can be spun freely, does this mean it has 2WD option? It has a lever through the floor on the passenger side of the tunnel. Please excuse my ignorance on this as i've had nothing to do with QT's before. I can't test it now as the motor and front diff is all disconnected ready for the transplant.
Regards Ross

Well if u have a stock QT you need QT oil, if you have a part time conversion then ATF is suggested. What I'm unsure about is-
do I have a conversion (looks like it..)
Is there any harm in using the QT fluid in a converted case..
How much for the 3?
