Default Bulb frustration!!!

Hey guys, does anyone know how I can find out the types of bulbs used throughout the KJ? I'm looking for replacement LED bulbs but they never say what they're for, only what type they are so they are assuming I know which type goes where.

For example I know H4 is headlights, but H3, H1, etc I have no idea. I'm looking to replace my interior lights with LEDs. Whiter and brighter light to help me find stuff at night.

Thanks cmohr. I read through that and understood almost none of it. I had tried a generic led lamp for the interior some time ago. Experienced the same problem Glend is referring to. Light wouldn't completely turn off after turning ignition on. I put original globe's back in.

What I was hoping for was a chart off some kind trust I could refer to for any globe type and it's Position in the car.

True. One of our xj blokes, Mm I think, had a similar problem with LED interior lights. He had a permanent eerie glow.

Jeepboy, do you know the bulb numbers of the original bulbs? They should cross-reference.

No mate, that's what I'm trying to find out. Basically a chart of some kind which lists the numbers and specifics of each bulb installed from factory on the KJ. Then I can make sure I'm purchasing the right replacement.
