Default UHF Hand Held?

Only for short distance. IE Convoy 4wd trips. Are the $80 ! watt uniden ones from dick smith good enough.?

I've been using the exact one now for 6 Months +

No dramas with it at all. Very handy little unit, just get some rechargeable batteries for it as it will chew through a set in a couple of days.

Nice crisp sound both ways.

You can get away with pretty much any UHF radio for short distance convoying.. I've seen a few people using these, and Uniden's a pretty good brand in general.

I used one of the older uniden models whenn I was driving my GU in comps down in Vic. I had the cheapest model that had VOX because my winch bitch (aka my youngest bro) had a habit of drowning them in muddy water.

They work great and I've still got the last one . . . . funny, no longer competing, living away from the muddy stuff and the last radio has worked great for almost the last 3 years!

Default uhf handheld

alos you may want to think abt buying a belt clip with it...so you can put a screw in yr dash somehwere then the belt clip attached to the screw.
