Hello, dear colleagues.
I'm out of ideas with my Xj.
The car is practically standing due to ongoing renovation of the floor, it is started from time to time.
During the last attempt to start it, the candles stopped heating (there was no indicator light).
I finally started the engine and it turned out that there was no charging and no tachometer readings. Everything died at once, I checked all the fuses and relays with a tester, I even changed the computer under the hood and it didn't help.
Yesterday I discovered that there was no ground on the "-" wire at the glow plug relay. The multimeter showed 7 volts between positive and negative. After adding the mass, the relay turned on, the spark plugs started heating and charging started. Unfortunately, the engine speed goes up to 17 volts. Additionally, the glow plug relay does not turn off.
The car has no alarm. Nope imo. Keying does not work. The ground between the engine and the hood was also checked.
Watch, compass etc. everything works normally. Additionally, I checked the ignition switch, bypassing the ignition itself. I'm out of ideas.
Best regards from Poland
