Default 2019 3.0l diesel leaking coolant from the valley

Sorry I didn't check the threads before posting this but I'm stuck in Broome after being towed 265km in from a truck bay the Gt Northern Hwy. I pulled over for the night and after 1 hr went outside the caravan to take a leak to discover a puddle of coolant under the car, I couldnt locate the source hence the tow in. Now after 4 days the mechanics finally took a look topping up the coolant and pressure testing locating the leak to the back of the engine near the valley. They've wipped their hands of the car and told me to take it to Jeep in Darwin. has anybody any ideas on the source of the leak?

Thanks

Sounds like the turbo coolant hose in the valley has blown, its a small hose which is a common fault on all models after 2013... the Intake manifold, fuel lines etc need to be removed to get at the hose which is only about 50mm long, many choose to use an aftermarket higher quality piece instead of the Mopar rubbish...
Jeep has known about this fault for around 10 years and it seems has done nothing about it..

Any half decent diesel mechanic could do the job but as for Darwin I have no idea who......
All Grand Cherokee in Melbourne do make a replacement hose section which is of better quality than anything Jeep uses...

My Book I have noted the hose required is a silicon hose 3/8" x 100mm with a black fire sleeve with an ID of 19mm and 100mm in length and low profile hose clamps to suit..................

The complete pipe is a Dorman 667-562 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/15593289...Bk9SR-Lwo5r0Yw
If you look at the ebay link you can see in the pic that the Dorman is a braided hose while the Jeep hose is a old rubber job, most just remove and replace the faulty rubber bit......

As Drover stated, that will be your issue...and....any mechanic can do the job...its a remove and replace job....dont use the oem rubber hose if you intend to keep the vehicle...it will fail again.
I dont recommend you use a Dealership to perform the repair. Unskilled Apprentices with oem parts are not a good outcome for you.
Should you choose to 'stick with a Dealership'....then ask them to perform the Z46 recall at the same time....bits will be removed to perform that recall that will also have to be removed to replace the Valley hose.
Sorry to hear your stuck....not good.
Good luck.

Any good diesel mechanic should be able to do the valley hose replacement.!
However It might just be the turbo coolant hose at the back of the motor but not likely! If they are so bloody useless tell them to look at the step by step video by GDL Automotive in Sydney on how to replace the coolant valley hose! Just like painting with numbers! The price for replacement ranges from $1000.00 to $1500.00 inc hose! Might pay to see if a Jeep club in Darwin ,the Jeep dealer
should be able to do it.Howver do not let them put another Mopar hose in!

2019 build seems a bit young for a valley hose?
There are two hoses to the water cooled turbo, one in one out. The leak could be either the valley hose or the return hose at the rear of the turbo. The rear one I think is accessible with out removing the inlet manifold, the valley hose though does mean manifold off unfortunately.
I believe the rear one does require removal of the panel under the windscreen wipers to access.
Personally I'd be making sure it isn't the rear coolant hose before removing the manifold...

There are three hoses that may fail early, the "Z" hose by the oil cooler, the valley hose and the rear turbo coolant hose...

How many klms .There have been a number of these valley hoses fail early due to
when being fitted the clamps have sliced into the hose! Plus to put it simply this hose is not fit for purpose anyway!
