Default Towbar for 2021 Grand Cherokee

Hey guys, I am looking to buy a towbar for my 2021 Trailhawk, Rang the dealer and they are looking for $1450 plus they need the car for the whole day, local ARB looking for car for the day plus $1200 :0
Am I missing something here, even for an ametuer like me with limited tools and a driveway it is surely only a few hours work.
Have seen Towbars advertised for $700, just not sure if they are good quality or not.
Anyone any insight into this, worth trying to save $5-600, or more hassle than its worth?

I fitted one from fast fit to my wife’s X4. Took me a good 6 hrs. Wouldn’t say it was hard just time consuming. Had a few screws left over too. [emoji1787][emoji1787]

Would I do it again. Nah. Not again.

I’ll get the stealership to fit mine when my s-limited arrives in 2 weeks. Will be covered by 5 year warranty too.

Tow bar should be plated to show ADR compliance as well as its tow ratings, if not don't touch it. The Jeep ones are usually made here anyway.... I think the time consuming part is removing the damn bumper most essential to clean the drill holes, remove all swirl and torque the bolts up properly, a loose bolt will chew out and cause much drama .............. One of mine wasn't torqued up properly so back end came close to tearing out, required a week in panel shop to rebuild, not fun.

Have heard the Australian Towbars jobs are good.....

Also with later wk2's mine is a 2020. The wiring loom has to be installed from the rear to the front of vehicle where it connects with BCM and PCM to integrate it into the vehicle system.

All of ours have to, only the Yank ones had a plug at the back to tap into...
