Default Loud knock of unknown origin

I have a WK2 Diesel and have a loud knock that seems to be coming from the front right. Have been to Fulcrum and another suspension mob but have no joy and can't afford to continue to pay for their guesses. It seems to occur on a left hand corner more so than any other, and at times seems like an exhaust bang so replaced the flexible joint and reset the exhaust. On smooth roads no noises but on rough and patchy roads it may occur but not always. Have had the uppr and lower control arm bushes replaced both drive shafts.

So looking for any advice that may be on offer.

Also have the diesel owners ever had the gearbos serviced. I do not have any issues just curious.
Thank you in advance

I have the thinking cap on, may take awhile as the possibilities are huge ...........

If the steering shop has had a look then it shouldn't be things like shock mounts, tie rod ends etc but you never know..

Did they replace the front axles or the actual drive shaft ? either way when the CV joints on them start to go they will knock.....

Find some dirt and do some tight figure 8's at a reasonable speed to see if any knocking happens if so then its in the drive, so one of the axles has a dodgy CV or there's something in the diff not right ........... drop the diff oil and look at the plug to see if any shavings, if not refill with something like Penrite Pro Gear 75W85 GL5 ...

The upper ball joints and drive shaft, did they show signs of problems or was it a workshop replace them and see affair ???

Then again it could be an engine or gearbox mount or something simple like a loose panel or fitting, sound travels so it could even be from the back.

Running standard wheels and tyres or have you upped them ???

I service my Auto and TC every 40K kms and if its going to cause you grief it will let you know ....

What year model and version of JGC ?
