Default Front diff intermediate shaft urgent help pls

Hi guys.

I need a bit of a helping hand finding the correct part for my 2005 CRD KJ.
The part I need is the right hand intermediate differential shaft. In our parts fiche the number I found is 05066057AB and should fit my KJ as per Moparoverstock. However when I search on ebay for the same part number they say it will not fit my Jeep ??

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CV-Axle-A...cAAOSw~iRZpfIJ

Anybody has changed or bought this shaft before and can give me the correct info?

Cheers and thanks in advance.

Morris 4x4 has it in their diagram. Are you sure it needs replacement? I pulled mine when i replaced the right hub, and found it corroded on the diff insert snap ring area, obviously water had leaked into the tube during creek crossings, past the intermeadiate shaft seal and shaft bushing. Its a heck of a job to pull it out if the snap ring is corroded, but a big hammer helps, or a slide hammer puller. Anyway when i got it out it was pretty easy to clean it up and regrease the diff end. Be aware that shaft bushing and seal on the inside on the axle tube on the hub end may need replacement, its a press fit bearing that fits inside the tube. Part numbers are below for the bushing and seal. I reused mine.
Here is the Crown replacement version of the intermeadiate shaft:

https://www.morris4x4center.com/axle...5066057ab.html

Note the Morris page says it is for the KJ CRD, and at $80 something USD, it is much cheaper than your ebay link.

Update: the intermeadiate shaft seal (05066066AA), and the Axle Bushing (05066056AB) should be replaced imho. The parts fiche shows a bushing and bearing on both ends of the intermeadiate shaft, but the inside diff end requires removing the axle tube to access it, a heck of a job. You can change the outside (hub end) from the wheel well if you pull the hub to get the shaft out. I am pretty sure my inside bushing and seal were ok, there was no diff fluid present in the axle tube, but removing the shaft may damage that inside seal, just be aware of it. Check your front diff fluid for water contamination as well.

BTW make sure you have your front diff breather extended to the top of the firewall if your doing any water crossings. Same with the transfer case breather, rear diff breather, transmission breather, and fuel tank breathers (note, there are two fuel tank breathers). I have all of mine extended.

Thanks Glend much appreciated.
I saw those at Morris but was not sure about the Crown quality considering what we hear about other Crown parts.
The entire front differential was rebuilt including half shafts, bushes and bearings just before the trip to Fraser. The only item that didn't get replaced and was badly worn is this shaft as we couldn't get one in time and of cause going by Murphy it broke on the second last day. Still made it out in just rear wheel drive without the need to be towed...Jeep go Jeep
Diff breathers were done but didn't know about the fuel tank breather. Get it checked out and done if need be.
Thanks again mate

Is the shaft the problem or the bushing and seal? I figure the Crown Intermeadiate Shaft is probably ok for most people, but yeah their parts like water thermostat and some others are crap, what can they do to a piece of steel? You could maybe find a shaft at Jeep Parts Recyclers at Hervey Bay, but might have to pull it yourself. If your obsessive buy the Mopar original as long as you can be sure they are not sending you a Crown at a Mopar price.
The tank breathers are on top of the tank, check the diagram from Parts Fiche, if you have small hands you mightbe able to access them from the rear but would have to drop your towbar and tank bash plate to get to it. Reach up inside the rear bumper till you feel the tank curve, left side near the filler hose fitting. I extended mine up the fuel filler neck and cable tied it to the fill hose near the fuel fill door, that is as high as i could go back there. Reuse the plastic breather cap if you can, just use a plastic barb fitting to extend.
