Funny you should post a fuel related topic as an interesting anomily in the latest 4x4 monthly mag sates to a reader that any fuel sold in Australia needs to meet stringent Quality Control tests before being placed on offer.

Later on in the mag they ae alking to the designers of the diesel engine for the new mazda workhorse and the design engineers state Mazda engineers test 4WD's in Australia and South Africa because they offer some of the worst-quality pump diesel to test engineers?????

It seems that 4WD Monthy again out do themselfs for contardictory reporting!! What are they trying to tell the readers?

Oh and the fact that they see a transmission safety feature as a transmission failure in the new Grand????

That's a great little bit of work... There's a lot of info there, and I'd have to agree with most of it.
He didn't mention the added effect of LPG: engine cooling. It has a bonus effect when decompressing near the air intake of cooling the incoming air, leading to performance benefits similar to other cold-air-induction methods.

In my experience the whole engine runs significanly cooler, too - especially noticable when towing or otherwise loading your engine up in hot weather. Once when towing a boat up a hill on petrol I experienced a heat warning light, swapped to gas, and watched the temp guage go back to normal in minutes, while the engine load remained the same.
