Default G2 axle assemblies? Know any thing about them?

Found these the other day.

http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Drivetrain-J...%2f2D44TJ-FA45

TJ D44 Front Axle Assembly 4.56 ratio; With Air Locker
By G2 Axle and Gear
Part Number: G/2D44TJ-FA456

Price:$2,923.99

So basically you add your existing Dana30 brakes and your done.

Shipping?
Well I asked

$560 sea freight to Sydney port, you look after all taxes and duties, and getting it from the port to your Jeep.

Seems tempting especially if the 15% store wide counts.

So what do you know about them?
Worth the effort?

Cheers
Dave

Edit: no I didn't look at the link before typing.....

I bet it's not that simple.
D44 has a longer pinion than a d30, may require front tailshaft mods, ie shortening.
A 1310 yoke wont fit your stock driveshaft either.
Does it come with suspension bushes?

I've hardly ever seen a straight bolt in/ on anything.

Yes I agree, nothing I have bought for my jeep so far has just bolted in as expected.

So:
Front driveshaft shortend
Yoke for a 1310 uni grafted on?
New suspension bushes, Can I reuse the Dana 30 ones?
panhard rod , relocated to other side

Anything else...its starting to add up?

Cheers
Dave

Are you having lots of problems with your current set up ? Cause this this is a lot of money to spend on a diff, how big of a tyre do you use ? How heavy is your right foot?

Yeah no dramas a present.
But after reading enough about the weakness of the 30, etc
My current diffs are fine.
But at some stage I'm going to need to do lockers and ratio's.
So my sums are like follows:
Air locker - 1200
Ratios - 600
master overhaul kit - 200+
Fitting - 800+ (In Sydney anyway)

I make that 2800 per end.

So you see how the above looked temping,
Chromo axles and a tougher diff to boot.

I currently run 33's on the street and 35's on the trail.
Its a 3 speed.

Cheers
Dave

Check the likes of DBOR for Terraflex diffs, and Procomp/Jeepkonnection for Dynatrac diffs and what prices they offer. Both can mod and fit the rh panhards mount as well as install.

I reckon your G2 diff will come in damn close the $6000 by the time it's landed and you have paid freight duties and GST.

Better to spend a few hundred more, support local business and have full local warranty support in case something isn't right.
