Default 2015 JK What is this behind bumper?

Can someone tell me what this is and do I need it when I install my new bumper. It's on the opposite side of the vacuum pump and its behind the bumper using the same inner bolt the bumper uses to attach to the frame..

Having a look at it from another angle it looks like its the horn. Can others confirm?
Is this a new location for the 2015 or it's been there from other models?

Here's the other angle..

I think it's the horn. I have a 2015 jku and got an ARB bull bar put on and wondered what that was too

Default 2015 JK what is this behind the bumper?

Definately the horn. One of two, the other should be up higher in the engine bay between the radiator and the TIPM unit.

The horn.
Here's a radical idea. Push the horn button.
When it vibrates and makes the appropriate sound, you can be pretty sure that it's the horn.

Horns are really interesting devices when you think how many people don't use them for their intended purpose. We have two horns in the JK for safety purposes, as different ears respond to different notes (and sometimes one of those notes will occur as ambient noise) so location and direction are well thought out things. Just think, some auto engineer got a bonus in his pay the week he/she decided to position the horns in their respective places (from memory the other is behind the headlight)

Did you know that prior to horns, it was law for someone to walk in front of the vehicle, holding a small flag, to alert others a vehicle was coming up the road?
"For the safety of pedestrians and animals, a law was passed stating that "…self-propelled vehicles on public roads must be preceded by a man on foot waving a red flag and blowing a horn.". Of course, it did not take long to realize that a horn in the automobile itself, operated by the driver, was much more efficient."

So there's some information for a lazy Sunday you might not have known. Not all knowledge is useless, but this is pretty close 🤓

Hey, with some places thinking about mandating a 30kph limit, we are almost back there!

Yes, it's one of the 2 horns. Same place in my '08.
