Default TJ not Starting

My 97 3spd Auto used to start first time all the time. Lately it has been not starting. It cranks but no start. sometimes it will decide to start without a problem. 90% of the time no start. What could it be? Crank angle sensor???
Cheers

Does it throw any codes?
The CAS is the first thing Id look at, but check the connections on the loom aren't full of dust and crud first

The CAS, crank angle sensor is on the upper left of the bell housing. It's held in place with two bolts, and there is a wiring loom with plug attached to it.
Access it from the gearbox end of the bell housing.
The NSS is the neutral safety switch... Is yours an auto! If so, on the right side of the gearbox just above the pan is the NSS, again with a loom going to it. Often they fill with mud and crud, and get either poor contacts or a short. They can be dismantled and cleaned to a reasonable extent, carefully.
It will stop the car from starting, but generally will also not allow the starter to crank the motor over when they play up, so I have doubts if that's the issue.
