usually find supercheap is the cheapest for buying oils and as they stock Castrol use
-
front diff Castrol EPX-80W/90
rear diff Castrol SAF-XA 75W/140 this is a fully synthetic diff oil with a friction modifier for LSD diffs so can be used straight from the bottle
you dont have to use synthetic in the rear unless you are doing highly stressed extreme things, you can use mineral based Castrol EPX-85W/140 in the rear as a much cheaper alternative
you will need two litres for each diff
I use to use a Penrite syn diff oil in the rear and found the diff was staying locked up everytime I went around a tight corner causing the tyres to chirp. dont use that stuff anymore and went back to Castrol diff oil
Jeep nominates ATF #3 or #4 in the transfer as Jonny Jeep says because thats whats used in the autos and thus to save confusion. the transfer mechanism is simply bearings, chains , sprockets, splines and a pump and does not require a sophisticated ATF like some autos do, therefore any ATF will suffice and Dexron III being about the commonest and most readilly available works fine for this application
