Default I just bought a beast!
Hey, my name is Sean. I'm new here. I just bought this...



It's a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport. It has done 130,000km, and is a beast. It has had quite a sizable lift and 33inch tyres on it. I've also just had extractors and exhaust system put on it and it sounds fantastic, deep and meaty.

I am a fisherman and wanted something to do proper surf beach fishing with. I raised my Ford Territory but it just couldn't do what I needed, so my fiance uses it now. I looked at 4Runners, Land Cruisers, but for under $6000 I couldn't go past this - my new man-mobile!

It is currently not road legal and unfortunately it can not be registered in S.A. until it IS road legal - the lift is too high and wheels are too big. I have applied for a certificate for modified vehicle and I am seeking the help of an engineer to road test and help with the certificate. It is a lengthy process and not cheap, but at the end of the day... it will be safe - that's what's most important.

I'm so so so happy with this car! Now... to do it up!

I live in South Australia. I don't know if the previous owner was a Jeep forum member. The car came from NSW.

There's some paint work that needs touching up around the vehicle. Need to remove some old stickers. Needs mud flaps to be legal. And the drivers seat is wonky. I'd love to put and awesome bucket seat kind of thing in, but I will start reading through this MASSIVE forum and learning.

Plenty material available for hours of reading
And whatever you don't find, just ask. I'm not a mod-god myself, but plenty members here that do all kinds of stuff to their XJ.

Do you have any maintenance history from the Jeep (so you know wether to first invest in catching up on this, or start saving for your mods ?
