Default egr delete

Anyone know if you get an egr delete done, do they blank off the egr and switch off the egr in the ecu or just switch it off via the ecu?

Switch off EGR by by software only. In the map file just replace with Null (Zero) so the EGR never opens in my case. I had inserted a blank on inlet and then blanked off the coolant flow to be sure no leaks future proof. Tried to removed the lot but the front wiring to valve motor when disconnected throws codes so the ECU is still monitoring it. Hope this helps.

Did you switch it off yourself using a program or get it done by somone?
I see you can buy blanking plates online.

Just bought the Murchinson's ECU remap as comes with the EGR turn off. The EGR turn off was more important to me than tune at the time. I just made my blank plate for EGR stainless tube at the EGR outlet to ensure a full seal and then had to replace the coolant hose. So ended up blanking both sides of EGR coolant lines to rid of another remote fail point with leaking cooler seals (which I had as well). Tried to remove the whole lot but then discovered the ECU continues to monitor so left it all there as no harm either way. Kept the few parts to restore if ever needed. Not to hard as it sits at the top of the motor.
