Default Airbag Compatible Bullbar
I have a 2006 Jeep Commander which I have owned for the past two years, great vehicle but the biggest frustration is not being able to buy a strong steel Aesthetically looking (airbag compatible) bullbar, in Australia the is not an option.

A lot of overseas bullbars are imported into Australia to be sold, are there requirements for these to be ADR approved?

I'm looking at importing an bullbar from overseas and fitting it to the commander, what are your thoughs?

I will assume that the accelerometer for the XH's air bag deployment is in the transmission tunnel as per most other jeeps? If so then ADR compliance will have little effect other than to your hip pocket.

My bar is imported as are many others - so I'd say go for it. Just try to keep the bar design within within the general AU compliance guidelines and you'll be right.
