Cool 97 TJ Clicking/Ticking Noise when turning

Hi All,

Have this stange clicking/ticking noise when turn left or right slowly into the drive way or anywhere and at a stand still when under load i.e. turning the wheel L&R in the driveway.

Thought it was the hub, no, just replaced it, axel unis are fine (new), tail shaft unis fine, steering arm and box fine as is the pump. After checking underneath the noise seems to be coming from the engine area (no not tappets) lower down, almost sounds similar like the a uni or hub has gone.

It drives well, no signs of anything rattling or loose. Any ideas?

My suggestion is check for play in the wheel bearings and run a spanner over all steering box nuts bolts/drag link/tie rods etc

The TJ is a 97 Still need to check the bits you were talking about, weekends something about the other half wanting to do things go figure, but is supportive of the Jeep though. It's one of those sounds that can be deceiving. You might think it's there and it's not.

Are you in any club by any chance? Trying to get into one. I know ACT Jeep taction is here but having trouble contacting them.
