Default pricing a jeep wrangler

hi people of AJOR, I have been here before asking questions on a wrangler soft-top, that was a while ago, anyway the reason I am here now is that this is obviously the place for aussie jeep people so I figured the best place to ask this question.

situation is my dad has a jeep wrangler and doesn't use it much and a few months back offered to give it to me and my sister for us to either keep or sell, selling has been the preferred option as neither of us drive and what money we could get can be better spent elsewhere.

we have asked around local car dealers and after getting some seriously low ball offers [2000 from one guy] we kinda gave up, but I remembered this place and figured one last try.

basically I was hoping if I posted what details I have maybe you guys could offer up some expert knowledge of what I should expect to get, maybe even sell it here.

so details are

Jeep Wrangler sport 4x4 [small wheel base]
2000 model
136,984 on the clock
4Lt 6 cylinder petrol engine
4 seats
black hardtop [black/grey soft top also]
aftermarket stereo[quite loud, speaking from experience]
CB radio
it looks lifted compared to stock models i've seen, but i'd have to ask.
needs rear tires[still drivable, little dicey in the wet though]
good to fair condition
registered until 27th 1st 2013.
[can take pics if needed]
oh we're in queensland, sunny coast.

so any help would be great, I didn't stick this is in trade/4sale as the rules said something about firm price and obviously I don't have one.

thanks

It would be better if you posted pictures and did a little research as we don't no the real condition of the vehicle, Does it have a service history log book.
Are there any strange noises while driving is the water in the radiator clean
when was last service all unknown.
Is it Auto or Manual, steel wheels or alloy and what size
Bull bar or std bars etc.

Here are two on car sale http://www.carsales.com.au/car/brand...Year:2000,2000
for over $10000 don't no how long they have been there, It does come down to what you wont and what some one will pay and meeting some where in middle that seller and buyer are happy with.
Cars are not selling at moment and a car yard will wont to put $5000 on top of purchase price + cost of repairs to get up to saleable condition registration + warranty + money to give on trade so could easily see them advertising it around $10000 to $12000 after paying you $2000.
Hope this helps a bit. Sorry no one has responded but if you work out a price place it in 4 sale section.

As itchy said $5000 - $10000 depending on condition private sale a lot of people would give you $2000

How much do you think is a fair price ? Take into account the car is 12 years old ..........I recon around $8K is what someone will be prepared to part with if there are not issues with the car.

Hey bud only just logged on. I bought my TJ 1999 model a few months back and its in good condition and was straight as until I dented it 4wding. 200000 on the clock so not much more and I paid $6000 for it. Not sure if a 2000 would be worth heaps more but the $8000 Cornelius said is probably a good starting price. Even 8500 cause you can't go up once you place the ad :) hope that helps a little.
