Default Replacing Head Light

Has anyone replaced their WJ Head lights?

Mine are really badly crazed and I'm sure are not emitting the light they should.

I see many on the USA ebay site but I'm not sure if they are compatible. Has anyone bought from there?

The part number for the Right side one is Chrysler 30987

Thanks

Check when buying lights from USA, the 'cut-out' (or reflecting housing is shaped on other side)... This will project the light away from road in Oz! Im also lead to believe most from USA will not be DOT compliant?

Thanks for that
You're probably right but that's why I posted the question to see other people's experience. did not know if the angle of the beam is built in the reflector or when you adjust it externally....

Have you tried to rejuvenate them? About $30 from auto shop ie:autobarn will get you a headlamp lens kit that I have seen bring back yellow foggy lenses.

been down that path and a waste of money. It simply does not work once the plastic begins to craze (fine lines inside the plastic)
So Im after a replacement set and naturally cheap!

Yup waste of time and money..

I'll start $195 here http://www.suburbanimports.com.au/jeepparts.htm

Think those Hervey Bay blokes have em cheaper, seen them on EBay a while ago.

I scored a set from NZ delivered for $120 had some fancy auto headlight leveling function, but they went in fine..

They come up on Aust. EBay a bit, I purchased local-ish for rhd, not sure it's worth the hassle to ship due to bulk, and lhd/rhd issue.

The bulb does not control where the light is thrown - the shape of the reflector does. If you bought in a car from the states you would have to change the headlights to RHD versions, otherwise you would be blinding oncoming traffic.
Our headlights on dip are flat to the front and right, but flare up to the left to show what is to the left of the road.
