Default Radiator thoughts

Hi guys

My 2001 update is running hot 110degrees on the highway. seems to manage better at slower speeds. down to 106 degrees after fitting a bigger trannie cooler.

The copper radiator came out of a wreck I had and was new but left sitting for 2 years with water/coolant just in the lower section after head was removed. the coolant had gone to sludge in the block so I flushed this radiator with cleaner when I fitted it to mine.

So I'm going to flush it one more time but thinking of getting a new ebay alloy radiator.
There seems to be 2 main types one has a narrower header tank on the trannie cooler side. Costs $170ish the other seems it might be better for $208.

Cheapest copper one is $340ish but I'm trying to throw my money in my diesel conversion car rather than my current daily driver.

So long winded post which do you think of the 2 would be best.

Aluminum radiator and some decent electric thermal fans and you will be a lot happier, might as well upgrade the pump while you are there.

I've just bought that bottom one, and it's too bloody big!!!

Major pain in the arse to fit. Personaly, I'm going back to copper/brass, when this one shits itself. I've never had ANY fitment issues with copper/brass.
Always hearing stories about these frigin alloy things. I purchased off the advise of a radiator shop. F-wits!!!! Never again!!!!!!

Ordered the top one from eBay seller ASI.
It arrived a day late as I was leaving to drive 3 hrs. to Brisbane so I took it with me. Started fitting it at my sisters place in Brissy and what a stuff up.
Must have spent 6 hours trimming the upper and lower supports, also had to trim the aux. fan shroud bent cooler lines and re route. This thing is just to thick and a little too tall. Turns out when I rechecked the purchase that they sent me the bottom radiator in the pics, so I don't know if the first one would have caused all the headaches.
I'll need to spend some more time yet cause it is still to tight on the condenser and hoses.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, IT IS NOT WORTH THE GRIEF.

Worst bit is I should have know better and yes bruggz351 I should have heeded your warning.

Save yourself potential pain and go with a Mopar unit. They will last years. I have had my car for 21 years and took out the original radiator in 2008, and the second (Mopar replacement unit) in 2015.

I blew two non-mopar units (copper/brass) in one year and never went back again, even though it was under warranty.
