Default Sticking seat belt

My drivers side front belt keeps getting stuck. Doesn't matter what angle the vehicle is parked on.
The only way to free it is to do a fast masturbatory movement for 30 seconds or so ... I don't want people to think I'm a FJ driver.
Is there a fix for this or am I up for a new seat belt mechanism (which will no doubt cost $2Mil from Jeep)?

I had this happen once when i went to pick the Jeep up after a service. Had the service guys go and fix it up, they returned in a few seconds so whatever they did wasn't much, and it hasn't played up since. I recall them saying something about manually winding it back a bit to release the lock at the retractor (behind the door panel) but the exact details re lost on me

my '13' driver side belt locked on the other day. Looked online to find pages of the same issue. Ended up having to rip the plastic covers off and manually wind some slack in with my finger to get it to release.

This first happened the day I picked the Jeep up from the dealer.

He gave me some bullshit about it being parked on an angle and common in many cars.

It has happened a number of times over the past 3 years but recently has started happening almost every time I step into the Jeep.

The rapid jiggling fixes it much faster than pulling things apart but this can still take a few minutes of frustration.

I think its time to replace the mechanism.

Does anyone have a less painful alternative to Jeep dealers?

Same thing happened to me Brian but I was on Fraser Island without a seatbelt for a couple of days until it decided to work again. I even tried removing all the plastic covers and winding it back, but to no avail. It hasn't played up since then though.
