Default front left clicking when in 4x4 with torque applied and turning

I think my uni joint needs replacing. I replaced them with MOOG ones when I replaced unit bearings approx 5 months ago.

When in 4x4 and under torque and/or when turning there is a loud clicking noise from the front left. It sounds to be coming from the front left wheel.

Clicks when engine braking down a steep hill even when wheel straight.

Clicks when powering up something steepish

Clicks when doing tight turns

It does not make any noise when in 2wd.
Never does it when stationary.
It getting worse and more frequent.

Uni joint visually look fine with all clips appearing to be in place properly.

I replaced them myself and it was the first time I have done it. I am guessing I have done something wrong.

I have bought 2 new Moog uni joints ( $62 aud delivered, thank you Amazon) and intend on replacing it to see if the clicking stops. I figured it would be good to have a spare considering I always carry the tools to replace it with me.

Anyone got any experience with uni joints making a clicking noise?

Had the same thing, turned out front propshaft bearing at transfer case was shot, luckily i got it fixed at the same time as NPC clutch went in.
I thought it was wheel bearings at first as I also couldn't see any problems. Can recommend a driveline mechanic if you need one.

Ok I will check the prop shaft. Wheel bearings themselves I am assuming ok.

Its the spline in the hub. Try tightening the axil nut in the hub to 180 f/lb

Mmm didn't think of that. Makes sense when turning. Can't really see it happening when the wheel is straight though. Easy enough to tighten it
