My kids keep commenting on how upright the back seats are in the Jeep. I have seen that you can buy kits from the US that have machined spacers to tilt the front of the rear seat up and that this is supposed to give you about 2.5 inches of recline.
The angle of the seats is almost upright and it is something that Jeep should have fixed long ago.
I am interested peoples views as to whether any safety problems might occur if I put one of these kits in. e.g. some of the kits come with longer bolts to make sure that the thread bites enough into the body but other kits use the stock bolts.
In the event of a frontal collision would it lead to the seats 'submarineing' forward?
I have looked into this also, Keep in mind the kids won't be effected by a higher seat, as the force of the impact still not change as the seatbelts are not effected. Almost all the force is on the belts rather then the seat itself.
