Default Snorkel Choice - Your Opinion?

Hi all, I am looking at getting a snorkel and have narrowed it down to either a AEV or a Volant with a CAI kit.
The Volant option is about $500.00 more expensive but appears to provide better air flow.

Interested in opinions and / or experiences.

Thanks in advance, Craig

What are my other options? and will they fit with the aev bonnet

3.8 or 3.6?. If the former an ebay special for 90 bucks will do the job

I had an ebay special, a clone of the older AEV style.

If caused issues with aftermarket flares, even though the flares were confirmed compatible with the genuine AEV snorkel.

This shows the difference in moldings between the genuine ones and the clones

I replaced it with a genuine and have never had any issues.

AEV have updated the design to a larger cross section to account for the extra power of the pentastar

I have no experience with the Volant, but in my opinion the AEV looks more tidy.
If you're going for a bling jeep then it could be good, but i personally prefer the refined 'factory' look of the AEV (especially the new one)

As always, the quality of AEV stuff is top notch as well. I've said it before, if i was doing another build I would use AEV products as much as possible.

I have the old model AEV on mine. I have never had an issue with air starvation as far as I can tell. The new model flows better & I think it will fit the older engine as well.

I don't use the ram head either, (lost it on the way home along the freeway years ago, or someone stole it in the carpark at Westfield & I didn't notice when I got back to the car...). I replaced it with a Donadson Topspin prefilter & the normal air filter lasts for ages now!

And secured it much better this time!
