Default Drip.Drip.Drip.Coolant Leak

Yes Drip Drip Drip Coolant Leak and its getting worse By the look of it its the water pump gasket 3 years ago I put a new ebay elcheapO $28.00 water pump in after that I had some over heating issues and now it looks like its leaking I went on ebay to get a new gasket $20 odd for a gasket I can get a elcheapO pump and gasket for $30 4x4 point has a gasket for $5.90 + $5.90 postage so I decided to replace the elcheapO pump with a new hiflow pump includes gasket supposedly 10% more flow for $50.00 from 4x4 point on ebay .........................................
this time I will put sealing paste on both sides of the gasket to be sure
always something

if the shaft seal is good, i wouldnt bother with a new pump & gasket. Just pull it out, inspect & use some silicone & put it back.

Do some research on hiflow pumps v thermostat.
Sure I read that the extra flow can cause foaming or something if the thermostat isnt changed to something that i cant remember.

I use silicon for all my gaskets now for many years with no problems. Ultra grey.

I currently use a hi-flow thermostat. Can't say I'm happy with it. The temp will rise to 97 before settling back on 93 and repeat. I think it is slower to open the the regular thermostat.

well I have already ordered the pump I was hoping this might fix my temp issues I also ordered a inferred tem gun just to check if my gauge is correct as on a recent temp test the 99 sport ran at 105ks 2200 rpm at 93 to 95 deg my 96 averages 100 under the same conditions also I am prepping for my yearly run to Brisbane 1200 ks in one day although I might stop overnight half way this time its a big drive and the XJ gets hot after a while so hopefully new water pump and hood vents might help the old girl along
