Default Windscreen washers again

Are the washer nozzles on my 96 XJ adjustable up or down, as mine are spraying only on the bottom of the screen?

any help appreciated.

No I don't think they are but...

Stupid questions I am sure,

Have you tried to clean the hole with a pin or something?

Are the hoses and water tank clean and not clogged?

Do you use an additive to the washer tank? If you do, what is it?

If a 'general detergent' is added to the water in the washer container, this can clog the lines.

If that all fails, then maybe, consider only using the window washer whilst travelling on the highway at around 100k/s, this should then make the water travel up the windscreen just a tad.

I cleaned out mine recently by removing the panel that mounts the washers and disconnecting the hoses attached to the sprays and blowing out the sprays with compressed air, also checked pump flow to hoses and flushed out, prior to spray connection. A bit more tedious but considering this job hadn't been done on this vehicle up until then it was a good idea in my mind as it also allows you to clean out the area, remove leaf debri and check hose condition etc.

Mine spray lots of water, so I assume they're not blocked. But they only spray it on to the bottom 200mm or so of the windscreen. A bit of a crook design if they're not adjustable.

you can adjust them by lifting up the square section with a screw driver and pack double sided tap under it not the best design but this will lift them high enough to hit the middle of the screen

I've just fixed mine! Left nozzle was spraying only on bottom 20cm of windscreen while the right nozzle wasn't working at all. Check on the underside of the bonnet that the hose is firmly connected to the nozzles. Mine had become detached from the right nozzle (that's why it wasn't spraying) and the loss of pressure meant the left nozzle was only dribbling. All good and back to normal now. Hope that's your problem...
