Default ZJ coils in a TJ

Been reading on a few other BB, mainly American one's, and quite a few guys there have been putting ZJ coils in thier TJ's.

They have been putting rear ZJ coils in the front and moving the front TJ coils to the rear, giving them an insatnt 2'-3' lift. Just wondering if anyone else here is/has doing the same thing, would love to know how ya went!!!!

I would think the front TJ coil face wouldn't be big enough to go into the rear but apperantly is is no problem with coils moving or anything like that?

I played fitting the front Stock TJ coils to the rear (hey I was bored  )....Anyways result was about 3" lift, and yes the coils fitted ok - but simply wasn't enough lift for me so they came back out after about 2 weeks.....
But definately doable....

Um as I said grab as set of ZJ rear coils, wack them in the front of ya TJ and then grab the front TJ coils and wack them in the back.

Havn't tried it so don't yell at me when ya do it and your TJ falls apart, but it's what I've heard, rather read!

Only prob I have with this is the srping rate for the front, I mean weight factor. The front of the TJ has the motor (der!) so is that equivelent to the load of the rear of the ZJ? The posts I have read suggest to use the V8 ZJ, which I didn't know exsisted in in Aussie land , maybe the V8 WJ coils would do the job?

i actually read some dude uses TJ coils in WJs..

the front and the rear spring on TJ's and WJ's are similar in diameter......

the reason people use ZJ rears on TJ is that the Front and the rear spring in ZJ's are very similar is diameter... and they do a F>R swap on Zj in the US.... ie puttin front slinky in the rear and buy new fronts to match.. gives you like a 2-3 inch lift...
but i cant imagine the ride quality...

i dotn think you can use a WJ rear in the Front of a TJ... too big, and i dont think it will stay on... and it might wobble around a bit...

thsi is what i read, i never tried it...

I thought it was Wobbly Jeep FRONT coils fitted to the FRONT of the TJ.....

As for the TJ fronts fitted to the rear - remember that generally the spring needs to be a bit stiffer when it's higher.....I would NOT have called them too stiff when I tried it.
But at the end of the day if you've got the time & inclination give it a rip....You won't hurt anything just time......
