The towing weights have gone to poo. 907 kg for the two door and 1587 kg for the four door. Looks like I'll be sticking to what I've got.

Yeah I'm with Grahame on the towing capacity. Also the manual has conveniently left the important figures out like: kerb weight, GVM, cargo storage space, vehicle dimensions, etc..

Although I share your concern these are the same weights in the US MY16 operator manual. There is still hope for the overseas model not having a downgrade.

If Chrysler think they will sell premium priced utes in Australia that can't tow 3 tonne they need their heads read

Hopefully the ute will be more, otherwise the JK will be kept for a lot longer.

Leaked specs for the JT ute say that it will tow 6500lb in US spec, which is about 3 ton. It's not up there with the 3.5T best-in-class vehicles but imho it's good enough for the leisure oriented JT.
