Default 2014 JGC WK2 Ecodiesel - Identifying leaking coolant pipe under oil filter housing

Hi All,

Can anyone help me identify this hose please?

On a 2014 JGC WK2 Ecodiesel - it's just below the Oil Filter Housing. It's only about 6 inches long. With the lack of space I can't even tell where it's going.

Video here: https://youtu.be/yBfZro5Ui84

Any guidance on replacement procedure (ie best way to access it) is appreciated too.

Thanks heaps!
Mike

I think it may be CH-68147604AA referenced as a "tube" in my parts invoice but usually called the oil cooler return hose.
Fairly easily accessed from underneath once the untertray is removed.
I had to source one for mine in a hurry and paid $87 at my local dealer - which is daylight robbery for a short piece of S form hose.
As suggested by Drover elsewhere in this forum leave out the CH prefix when you search the part.

I'd suggest when you replace this hose and if it looks fairly crook then program in to have the hose piece under the inlet manifold replaced before it fails. Plenty of info about it in this forum. Both my hoses needed doing at 120K. http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...d.php?t=155255

Hey @JnK,

Just wanted to say thankyou!

You were correct - and although the clips were a pain to remove - as the top one was twisted around next to the oil sensors, I was able to get the hose off... Pic attached!

Now to see how fast I can get one - I'll probably have to pay dealer price to get one fastest... at least I don't have to pay their labour costs too!

Thanks again,
Mike

Since you have the hose in hand I would go to Repco, Supercheap, Bursons or a Hose Doc shop and see what they have on the rack, its the dimensions thats important and there are all sorts of heater hose shapes... usually one that fits..... Certainly be cheaper than going to Jeep who will probably say it comes as an assembly... Nothing special about a Jeep hose.
Use proper stainless hose clamps as well.....

Found my notes: Part number 68147604AA , size 1/2" ........ basic Z shape so should be easy to find in a heater hose bin.
Ebay wants $95 for one, BS............

Glad it is well on the way to being sorted - more than half the battle to have it in hand.
And again per Drover - quality SS hose clamps will make it easier to refit.
Judging the condition - well worth you reading the threads on here about the other hoses - particularly the horror under the inlet manifold.

I would be doing exactly that. Our local Supercheap have a Rack full of different hoses to rat through, when you find the right one make note of the part # and write it down somewhere, you will be surprised what you find and save big $$$$$, as Drover stated theres nothing special about it
