Cool Who's removed their mud flaps?

I've noticed on a lot of YouTube videos and photos of JGC's, they don't have mud flaps. I find the mud flaps are quite low and could easily get caught up when driving on sand.
So I have 3 questions...
Do they come standard with mud flaps or have mine been added as an extra?
How many people run with no mud flaps?
How does it go on gravel roads without mud flaps?

(I have a 2014 CRD WK2)

I ended up putting the standard mudflaps back on mine. I run 275/65/18s and found they sprayed my camper trailer with mud and dirt when offroad. Getting the trailer dirty doesn't worry me so much but everything I tied to the top of it like kayaks and camp chairs just got covered.

I'm constantly on sand as I beach fish and have never had a problem with them ripping off with a 2" lift.

I'll eventually fit flares on mine which will mean having to remove the mudflaps again. I'll probably fit a set of rock tamer flaps for when towing the camper after that.

I fitted my mud flaps later, I live on the beach, no lift and they cause no drama on sand or dirt they do save a lot of crap on vehicle and van, I don't like rock tamers for the simple fact it doesn't take much for them to be rock chuckers if fitted slightly wrong, they can scoop and chuck the goolies........ dropping off ledges they are the least of my problems as the tow bar smacks something.

Most GCs seem to be sold without mudflaps from what I've seen. Mine doesn't have them and with standard 265 18's it doesn't throw all that much shit on the bodywork. Just a bit on the lower sill and I do a bit of driving on unsealed roads and tracks and haven't seen much evidence of chipping either.

It's the same in NSW however, from memory I'm sure I read that there was an exemption for certain years of GCs and Wranglers.

I can't remember why, I'm sure there would be someone who has a better memory than I about it.

Thanks for the replies. I will leave them on for now as I don't want to flick rocks and mud on my van, and I no longer fear ripping them off in the sand.
