My 2012 Grand has 204k on it, I currently have it for sale, and I am looking at these other 2012-13 GC for sale advertising 70-140k on the clock, some of these are eyebrow raising claims especially at the lower end of the scale.
We don't do big mileage but I think 400kms a week is pretty normal driving that's 20k a year. I would even consider 15k a year as being realistic mileage, anything below that you would have to start questioning it's authenticity. All to easy to go to a wreckers and buy a evic/odometer with vastly different mileage on it and fit it to the car.
I recently seen a 10yr old car advertised at a dealership with 68k on the clock, the drivers seat looked like it had done 400k and the hole's worn into the carpet under the pedals would suggest the carpet had travelled the same distance as the seat.

If I was buying that 2004 I would consider that genuine mileage.

He’s actually talking about a TJ, different kettle of fish.

$8,000 for a 2004 in good condition is good buying.

As for problems, issues etc.. A TJ is a labour of love, it is an enthusiast vehicle which can be great, but also have a myriad of niggling issues most of which will create an ongoing work in progress, but none that should stop the vehicle being used. They are easy to work on and 99.99% of those niggles can be fixed diy with a little help from the many Jeep forums - you will never have an issue unique to yours that has not already been fixed and documented my many Jeepers on the internet.

Fuel consumption is crap (think V8 and add another 2L/100kms. Storage being a swb is extremely limited. But they are great fun to drive and look cool.

Just do your usual used car purchase checks and balances, additionally look for rust in case it’s been a beach vehicle, and buy it.

When you already have a Jeep and are looking for a second Jeep, only a car like the TJ could come to mind.

If the 4.0L has done only 211k, then then this TJ is just a baby with its best years still ahead.
