Default peoples opinion on shocks

i am looking at buying a new set of shock, since i got my lift going on. its only a 2 inch lift so i was looking at something not to expensive.

what is everyone opinion, which is better?
TJM - series 2000
ARB - old man emu

i travel alot on the freeway and normal road use so i have to consider it in my decision, that its road handeling - i dont want em to soft.

what do you guys suggest? or is there another brand i should be looking at?

Yeah what Steve said. Don't get the TJM.

I also have OME and tho they have performed quite well they are on their way out and they are about 2.5 years old.

I'd suggest having a real good look at the Rancho's

Default peoples opinion on shocks

Hi,

I had OME shocks that went soft after a trip to Cape York. Now I have RS9000 Ranchos but found the recommended ones had fair bit shorter travel than OME. I got best match travel and had to custom make bar pin bushes etc.

Maybe my imagination but i think RS9000s need to be one notch tighter adjustment than before now too. Maybe I am just too tough on shocks.

I think OME "best compromise" ride and travel.
RS9000 most fun to mess about with adjustments.

What ever you do DO NOT BUY THE TJM LIFT! You'd be better off keeping it stock! I run the OME from ARB and I am VERY happy with it.

big red,

Don't know anything about the tjm but i have just had the OME 2" kit fitted it's made the tj 100% nicer to drive on the road and with the front sway bar disconnected it is more than capable off road. Was told the RS9000 didn't travel as much as the OME's.
