Default Oh Golly Gee!!!!!!

Not so long ago I bought a long range tank from 4wd systems and installed it no more than 3 months ago. Guess what? As my luck would have it both support straps have failed!!! There is nothing holding the tank in now.

On my way out of bunnings I noticed that the tank was sitting oddly. I thought taht maybe the nuts were coming loose. When I got home (3 minutes up the road) I got under and had a look. BOTH STRAPS HAD FAILED!! the straps bolt to existing mounts in front of the tank. At the rear they have a small piece of tube welded on that 'hooks' into the rear rail. The weld on both straps failed!

Now we can see what 4wd systems service is like!

More than likely Exteme Jeep. All warranties are void once its been off road!

The truck has just taken it away. I offered to take it to TJM or ARB for them to have a look at it but 4wd systems insisted on another place in the Valley (Auto Safety or something similar).

By the time it had left here there was fuel leaking out of the sender unit...I think its f***ed.

Doesn't the later model ones have the side mounting ones that bolt in the same place as your towbar? The one I fitted did have this and I extended the stock straps as well as a backup.

4wd systems treat me just as good as any of their toyo or nissan customers which is top service. I go there atleast once a week for info and help on things and they have nothing but time. the guys who work in the workshop or in the factory making the tanks and stuff can be a bit angry, but the sales man are very helpful.

hopefully you resolve your problems.

They have been great so far. Less than two hours after the tank falling it was on its way to be fixed.
