Feedback on Performance Chip for 5.7L HEMI

G'day all you Jeepers out there. I've got a 2005 WH Grand Ltd with SFA KM's.
Picked it up new in mid 2007 as there was a bit of a runout of the Hemi's here in Vic. I've got a few plans for it. 1st off the cuff is an Aux fuel tank from Long Range Aust, to give me another 110 liters cos by crikey it's a thirsty mofo. But my real question is about a performance chip. My mate in the land of the loud and proud is sending me a JET90412 stage 1 performance chip. Do any of you guys have any experience with performance chips, and will it effect my warranty.? I know it's almost the norm to fit a chip into a diesel after purchase, but what about petrol.?
Also, do I need to upgrade the air intake and exhaust as well to get the most out of it. (Remember is a stage 1 not stage 2)
Any help from all you experts will be greatly appreciated.
