Hi Everyone,

Just thought i would post my first message. I am new to the forum, and new to Jeep.

I have a Silver 2009 Jeep Wrangler CRD 3 Door, 6 sp manual. (i've had it 3 months, and all good so far).

Last week it went into ARB to have the bullbar, driving lights, winch, snorkel, uhf and suspension lift fited. It looks great.

The suspension lift has given me 4 inches of lift, and Jeep at Albion have advised that this will void my drivetrain warranty (oops..). I didnt want 4 inches of lift, but ARB have assured me that this lift is only 2 inches higher than a Rubicon. They have agreed to remove the current springs and replace them with less heavy duty items - hopefully this will reduce the lift a bit.

hard to tell in that picture but if your JK is anything like mine, it was sagged just under 2" when they put the replacement suspension in and that 4" of lift is really only a 2" over when it rolled off the factory floor.

You can't compare physical heights with the stock vehicles now as they have smaller tyres but you can measure bump stomp differences and this will give you a good idea of how far it really went up.

You only need warranty for your engine/gearbox/transfer and body electrics anyway. All the other stuff is better off upgraded when it shits itself.

That's an odd thing for them to say given that all the Oz-delivered JKs come with the same suspension (Rubicon or not). They're probably thinking of the TJ - in the US, the TJ Rubicon came with higher suspension. So, in reality you're the same height as a Rubicon would be with those springs - and everyone gets around 4 inches of lift.

Thanks.

ARB measured the car before and after (from the centre of the wheel to the underside of the guard) and all round it has lifted it 100mm.

I have spoken to ARB and they are going to remove the current spirngs, and replace them with the soft ones. Hopefully this will reduce the height of the vehicle.

I note that a number of the threads on this site relate to OME suspension lifts on the JK, and i cant seem to find too many people who have got the intended 2 inches of lift..
