Default Laptop to replace my PC

Hey guys i have been flexi renting a PC for about 3 years now and the term is nearly up, now i have been thinking i have a few options,

1. I buy the PC after the term is finished (but now its fairly outdated)
2. Return it and buy a decent PC
3. Buy a laptop to replace the home PC

What ya all think????

What is a decent but not overly expensive laptop that i can game on and still use like a PC but have to portability of a laptop still???? i do play games like BF2 and stuff, so what ya reckon????

The only game your gonna play on a reasonably priced laptop is Solitaire.

Stick with a PC or maybe a good Desktop Replacement for mobility.

Go with the desktop, far better value than a lappy.

What do you need the portability for, if its just for surfing the net and copying pics of the cam etc while out and about then get a cheap lappy, I like my EeePC 901 as it runs on 12v etc, and a decent desktop machine for gaming.

Cheers
Steve

an eeeeeeeeee pc will not run BF2 and there is nothing like taking a crap while taking out a chopper at the same time as you can only do with a laptop if money is no object toshiba sattelites are th shizzle.... asus do some really good stuff . mine has broke a few times but very solid and now reliable... hp for ladyboys well their laptops anyway. lenovo for boringness and alienware for extremeness in every way possible. try to get the 1066 ram

I bought an Asus laptop new off eBay a couple of years ago for about $1000, core duo, radeon x1700 video card, plays BF2, HL source etc. Have upgraded RAM and hard drive and it'll probably last me another year or so. The battery life sucks though, about 2 hours if you're just browsing the web, can get it down to 1 hour if it's encoding video. Came with 2 years Asus international warrenty.
