Default new lift and damage

Hi everyone.

Went out to test my new lift and totaled the slip yoke boot on the front drive shaft.

Had a look on jkforum USA and found that it can rip on the auto trans pan edge.
bit of a bugger, it wrecked it completely, lucky i was only local and didn't get any crap on it.

hoping jeep at albion have them in stock.

was flexing with the swaybar disconnected. dont know if this happens when you flex with it still connected.

oh well, lesson learned. will have to check it and see what i can do to avoid it happening again.

steve

Aftermarket is probably going to be cheaper as the boot is not a serviceable component according to Jeep.

Most driveshafts have a simple dust seal (often a felt ring held by screw on cap) so tearing the boot isnt a biggie. Its not like a CV boot which is critical.
