Default WH Paint codes - Body code plate

G'day,

I have an ARB bar on order and need some help locating the body code plate on my 06 WH (to check the paint code, i'm not sure if mine is 'Dark Khaki').

For the life of me I can't see this sucker.

WKJeeps say:
"A metal Body Code plate is located in the engine compartment and attached to the top of the right frame rail. The information listed on the plate is used for manufacturing and service purposes. Information on the plate includes whether the vehicle is Domestic or export, the Primary and Secondary paint codes, frame sequence number and internal manufacturing codes."

I don't see squat on the RHS frame rail in the engine bay.

WKJeeps also mentions that the paint code is on the Vehicle Certification Label. The VCL on mine is an alloy plate, and does not mention paint codes.

I've checked all the door jambs, all round the engine bay, the door sides... also checked jeepforum... nada.

My last option is to call the dealer to get a build sheet maybe - but surely this info must be on the car somewhere!?

Thanks!

Have never found it on my car - simply ring the dealer with you VIN number. This apparently is what all the local panel beaters do as they can't find the ID plate either.

LOL thanks mate.
Felt like a total spaz looking for that stupid plate.

Ha - dealer can give ya a paint code easy using the last 8 digits of the VIN. He mentioned that the workshop has never managed to find a body code plate on these Jeeps...
(must be a whole pile of these plates in a bin in the Magna Steyr plant hey!)

If yours is the update model WH you will need an earlier grill to fit the ARB bar as I found out.

Thanks Ross,

Mine's an 06 model, the one with the foggies in the bumper bar (not the foggies in the black lip fascia). Update models were post 07 yeah?
